Hey there! Thanks for stopping by.

I am Jonathan Wilson, a multi-disciplinary creative based in Oakland, CA. I am interested in the converging point between art, design, and experience.

My journey to UX design has been a long and winding path, speckled with a variety of experiences that have contributed to my design understanding. In 2010, I started my own business, JAW leather goods (later renamed Taulis Leather Workshop). In this capacity, I designed a wide range of leather products that have been sold all over the world. I utilized e-commerce systems, building my store from scratch, and evolving over time as I gained new insights from each new customer interaction. In 2018, I embarked on a journey of higher education, attending San Francisco State University to study Industrial Design, where I received a Bachelors of Science in 2022.

My Industrial Design studies led me to discover the world of UX design. I enrolled in DesignLab online UX bootcamp, and finished in July 2023. I am fascinated by the possibilities of data driven design solutions that can turn mundane daily tasks into something special.

My goal is to explore new possibilities and challenge traditional systems to create better, happier lives for people.

Outside of the work world, my hobbies range from art, mainly traditional relief printmaking with woodblock. I also am a fairly prolific musician who is constantly finding new sounds to explore. I also love to ride my bike, and get out in the woods whenever possible.

My current obsession is diy electronic musical instruments, and I have been working on a variety of digital synthesizer projects over the last year or two. In addition to coding the audio processing for ARM based microcontrollers, I have designed and built prototypes of several instruments for my personal use.
